About

The headtail connection is a place to talk about dance.  And other stuff.

I am a queer, immigrant, first-generation student, Assistant Professor of Dance at the University of Alabama, with a spiraling curiosity about how dance is language and language is dance, and how both of these things can show us how to live with each other in the world and make it a better place.  I love philosophy, algorithms, and blanket statements; modernism, post-modernism, post-structuralism, the pedestrian, and triple pirouettes.  I dance socially to get a break from all the dancing I do in academia… and yet somehow that is also now my job, so I talk about that too.

I tend to use talk, write, dance and move somewhat indiscriminately, because I think that with context and intelligence we can all get along just fine.
